It is noteworthy that he has a lot in common  with his contemporary Mehmed Cavid Bey. İbrahim Fazıl Pelin from Selanik, is an economist and has liberal economic views. While he was teaching at Istanbul University, the Economics Lectures, which was prepared for first year students of Law School, was published as a book in 1914.
